Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page!

I'm training to participate in an Olympic Distance Triathlon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of my best friend, Lindsay.

I will never forget the day that she called me and told me she had cancer, it was like my heart stopped. The treatments were so expensive that she had to throw fundraisers of her own to raise money to pay for them. When I asked her to be my maid of honor at my wedding, she was so excited... but as her hair begain to fall out she realized she would have to walk down the aisle bald. She did, and I never thought she was more beautiful.

Lindsay was helped out a lot by Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, who helped pay for some of her treatments and eventually got her to remission. Now Lindsay is celebrating the second year of having her chemo port removed; her hair has grown back, and she and her mother still work with LLS to fundraise for others who suffer from these terrible cancers.
