*PAINTING AWAY CANCER*
There were 30 guest at this year's 3rd annual Painting Away Cancer fundraiser at pARTy Studio. With step-by-step instructions from one of the studio's talented artist we all were able to create our very own master piece. I think I might actually hang mine this year lol The event raised $720, which included raffles that raised $120. Thanks to those that were able to attend.
*RED WHITE & BOOM
Another AMAZING Red White & BOOM in the books! Once again I served beer and wine in the VIP area of BOOM Central for tips, which all went to LLS. This year was our 2nd highest amount raised at BOOM since I began volunteering in 2010. Our total this year...drum roll pleaseeeee...$2,610.87, which was divided and added into Kelly, Ann and my accounts ($870.29 each). Thanks to everyone who attended and donated/tipped.
*MAKE A DIFFERENCE WINE TASTING*
The guest at this year's Make A Difference Wine Tasting at Meza Wine Shop not only were able to sample 5 wines but they were also able to sniff samples and make purchases from a Scentsy consultant who was there in person. 50% of the proceeds from the wine tasting and 25% of the Scentsy proceeds all went to LLS. There also was a 50/50 raffle and the winner donated the money back into "the pot". Thanks to everyone that was able to make it and helped raise $275 for LLS.
*MARCH MADNESS*
Like UNC, Rick Shideler will have bragging rights for the next 365 days for winning this year's bracket. 2nd place goes to my Uncle Dennis (Dennis Payne). 3rd place is...Rick Shideler. Yes he won 1st AND 3rd place. 4th place goes to Jason Pullins and 5th place goes to my cousin, Shawn Payne. This year's March Madness For A Cure raised a record high, $655. *SKATING FOR A CURE*
A private rink was rented out again at The Chiller for the annual Skating For A Cure fundraiser. This year there were 64 skaters and 12 non skaters/supporters in attendance who helped raise $884 for LLS. Thanks to everyone that attended.

Since joining in 2010 I have completed 10 events (2 full marathons-26.2 miles and 8 half marathons-13.1 miles) with Team In Training. And with the help/support of family and friends I have raised over $40,516.
Last year marked one of my personal hero's 10th year in remission. Parker was only 5 years old when he was diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma. In Parker's honor I committed to raise $10,000 for LLS.
With the help/support of my family, friends and some complete strangers =) I surpassed that goal and raised $10,327.49.
Well it's a new year and I'm back at it again. Cancer isn't taking a break and neither am I! This fall I will be participating in the Portland, Oregon half marathon on October 8th. I have committed to raising $5,000 for LLS in honor and memory of my heroes. Thank you in advance for your support and donation. If you have a friend or loved one that you would like me to honor or in memory of please let me know when you donate. I will make sure to write their name on the back of my shirt I will wear race day.
