Racing to Save Lives
I'm training to participate in the Columbus Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!

7/11 - Brent Hambrick Memorial Opens
Today we volunteered at the Disc Golf tournament. at the Hoover Dam. Luckily, the rain held out during my time there (although not on my way to work at the climbing gym) I have a new appreciation/interest in the sport, and it was awesome to see other folks rallying to fight Leukemia.
7/18 Update
So today was my first 'race.' From travel, I've been a tad behind on my training, so it was also the first time I had run 10miles- in the Fat Rabbit Ten Miler at Antrium this morning. It was awesome to be with TNT, and great to hear other folks seeing the shirt and cheering me on! My time was 1 second under my goal, met folks whom I haven't met at trainings, learned a great new tip (walk through the water stations to avoid cramps) , and I felt like I could have run much faster afterwards, so I think it was a win-win all around. Afterwards, jg and I were to go bike camping, but the weather wasn't cooperating, and judging by how tight my calves were Sunday- was probably a good thing...More Here...
7/20 Update
Thank you so much everyone who has donated so far! It has been a great time training with the team and building momentum for the cause. If you have graciously sent a check- they take a bit to process- but my donation total is up to 1,160! I'm going to be holding a tasting on August 20th from 6-9 at Camelot Cellars in the Short North. If you would like to donate items/services for the silent auction/food, please contact me; to participate, just stay tuned for more details!
