New shoes = more miles

I admit it. I wear my shoes until they fall apart. And you know what? Mine were quite literally falling apart. As I trekked down the Olentangy Trail last week, I had to stop twice to gather up bits of errant plastic that had fallen from my shoes. Fortunately, my (very awesome) Dad came through with an early Christmas present and took me to the store where I became a convert to . . . Saucony!
Running around the store, they felt great. I can't wait to hit the trail in them. From 6 miles to 7 to 8 . . . 26 doesn't seem that far away with a new pair of shoes on my feet!

Thank you Lisa for donating such wonderful cupcakes! And thank you AGAIN OSU Anthropology for donating your change and helping me make it to my TNT goal. Remember - we're raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - it couldn't be going to a better organization.
Thank you also Lisa and OSU Anthropology for helping me make my marathon dream a reality!
Running Here There and Everywhere

Official training starts in December, but today I thought, "WOW! In Columbus, in October, there is SUN!" This clearly called for ditching work early (I do love being a grad student) grabbing my running shoes and hitting the pavement.
Four miles and a few scared ducks later, I'm feeling pretty good about a nice long Halloween run this weekend!
Stay tuned for more updates and support my efforts to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by donating on my website! Thank you

Thank you to my second and third sponsors: Bill Schaffer and Antoine Pouchard! We're one step closer to reaching my Leukemia and Lymphoma Society goal and I'm one day closer to running the Cleveland Marathon with Team in Training! You're the ones making this possible!

Thank you Kat and Chris Dore for being my first marathon sponsors! Kat and Chris have pledged a dollar amount for every mile I run and I couldn't be more excited. 26 miles will fly by with support like this!
