This is a $1,500 value that will help cure cancers.... chances are only $5 each or 3 chances for $10. The luxury suit includes 12 tickets and the game needs to be selected 3 weeks in advance. With the raffle ending in May that leaves time for home games starting with June 26 (if you are quick to request)! You may send checks made payable to LLS to my address or donate right on this page! Should you want more chances, I will offer 6 for $15 and 10 for $25 to provide "discounts" on larger donations. Anyone is welcome to donate for the chance to win, please spread the word to all soccer fans :D

The performance is open to the public, but they seat the LLS party together. Anyone is welcome and it is always fun to have a Shadowbox "virgin" in the group. Families are welcome but the venue is adult entertainment. Here is the show summary and the link to the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrL6pa9suew

"When the snows melt away and the long winter draws to an end, cabin fever gives way to Spring Fling, Shadowbox's newest show. The birds and the bees aren't the only creatures feelin' frisky. Fresh sketch comedy and vibrant rock 'n' roll celebrate life, love, and laughter. Have yourself a Spring Fling!"

My Story

I have never been a runner. Over the last year though I have been thinking that I would like to accomplish some great event like a marathon or 5K. Then I decided that I would race in memory of my grandfather. He lost his battle with cancer Memorial Day 2003. I wonder if he had cancer today instead of ten years ago would he still be here. I decided to work with TNT to help fund research to find a cure. Through this experience I will have expert training from professionals and help a great cause to fund research for cancer.

LLS and TNT's Story

Today nearly everyone has had personal experience - either themselves, or with a friend, family member, or loved one - with cancer. I recently found an organization that is able to give 75% of your donation to research, patient services, and community awareness. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training is the world's largest endurance training program for runners. walkers and cyclists, and triathletes. Nationally, they train over 30,000 people every year. Since its inception TNT has raised over 950 million dollars for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to invest to research, education, and patient services. Currently The Society has invested 1.4 million dollars in research right here in Central Ohio at OSU's The James Cancer Hospital!

Racing to Save Lives

I'm training to participate in the Capital City Half Marathon on May 1, 2010 and Fat Rabbit Triathlon on June 27, 2010 as a member of LLS's TNT. All of us on TNT are raising funds to help stop Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, and Myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling all blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Fundraising for the Cure

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. I have to personally raise $1,800 for the event, but would like to raise $3,300. I would like to invite you to donate and help the cause with a personal tax deduction. If you would like to send a cash, check, or money order, contact me for details. I can provide you with a receipt or the address to Team in Training directly if you prefer.

I hope you will visit my web site often to check to see my progress!

Thanks for your support!

Training Updates:

1/22: I just ran 2 miles with only walking a total of .10 of a mile!!! I am working my way to the Triathlon... I am going to run or bike tomorrow and which ever I don't do tomorrow, I will do on Sunday.

2/2: I just ran 2.25 miles without walking! Go Me!!!

2/3: The kickoff was tonight! It was great to meet some of my team members for Fat Rabbit. I also meet the team Hero Traci... She is great! She will be with us at fundraising events and to cheer us on at the Triathlon... Woot woot!

2/7: Today I ran 2.25 mies again! So this week I will work at finishing two and a half to make it to three by month end. The silent action went ok... we got like close to $400. I was hoping for more, but there was a snow storm that messed that up. Some is better than none! :) We aso sold Jello-shots and that will get bout $400 also!!! That means that Jason should be close to $800... Woot woot!

2/11: I got some sinus issues right now but I ran 2.25 miles at 4.2 on the treadmill. I normally only go 4.0!? I will be riding a bike for 12 miles tomorrow and then running 3 miles with the team run on Sunday.... I can o 3 without walking!!! Wish me luck

2/14: Happy V-day... I ran 3 miles without walking at all!!!! I then walked a half mile to finish out with running the last half mile to make a total of 3.5 ran for the morning!! I am excited to be at that point so far... still have 10 miles to the race total but I CAN do it!!!

2/15:The Big Bang was a SUCCESS!!!! We made just over $1400... divide that by 5 and that is great fundraising!? I rode the bike for 12 miles and tried to swim for 15 mins.... I hope I can become a better swimmer my June 27! LOL

2/20: The first swim training.... I know how to swim!!! I did not dorwn and actually do okay. Just need to pulled up my indurance!!

2/21: The Run clinic for the Triathlon was good. I ran a mile in 14:09!! My calves were so soar from the swimming though!? I really need to make sure I use those muscles. I also went to the YMCA to run another 1.3 miles and then walked fast to 3 then cooled down. One great thing is that I ran the first mile at the Y at 4.1 instead of 4.0!!!! :D

2/23: I ran 3 miles at 4.1 last night!!!! I am amazing!!! I had trouble running over the week and only made it to 2.5 most nights... but this was a great mark. I felt like I could have kept going for a little more if I needed too. I decided not to push too hard and just make it to 3 next time I run!

2/25: I swam a total of 700 yards this morning!? It was tough getting up at 5:30AM for a 6AM swim, but soooo worth it. I had energy all day and it is now 17 hours after being awake... lets see how I handle tomorrow?! :D

2/27: I cycled with the team for the first time today!! I need to work on that some. We did what in a cycling class would be called "jumps". That is where you stand up with a bunch of resistance and pedal. It is to practice going up hills.... I am not so good at that!? Next week I get to try again!

2/28: I ran 3.4 miles before walking some. finished with 3.8 before meeting my family at Burger King in the middle of my run. Then finished with another .7 to make a total of 4.5!!!

3/4: I swam this morning... 5:30 is too early for a wake up call! Did go though and have improved a lot. I know that I will only get better. I have to go running either tonight or tomorrow, I would guess tomorrow. Maybe I'll look into doing the Arnold 5K?

3/6: Had a tri clinic to learn more about the specific equipment that will be used on race day. Then had a cycle training for an hour! I need to get better with the cycling practice for the hills... hear there is a BIG one right at the end!?!?!!?

3/7: I ran FIVE miles without walking at all!!!!!

3/8: I swam a total of 800 yards... that is a half mile!?! Now I need to work on not resting after every lap. But the training is to do 100 rest for 20 sec and do another 100 4x. then you have warm up and cool down. So maybe I have a lot more work to do?! LOL

3/10: I ran four miles under an hour!

3/11: I slacked at the team swim this morning. I still swam but I rested for one whole set. They did 4x25's without me. I knew I ran yesterday and know I'm going to run tomorrwo, so I want to make sure I can still walk! LOL

3/12: I ran 4 miles. The first two were at 12.5 min miles and the the round trip back was at 14 min miles. The bridge over 315 is steeper on the return than you know!? It is tough, but I am conquering it!!!

3/13: I did cycle training after a solid week of training my butt off! I slacked some because I know that I have to run 6 miles tomorrow morning.

3/14: I did SIX miles!!!!

3/17: I didn't do anything this week. I had finals at school and that was more important than running. I have time to continue to run...I did try to run 4 miles on Wed, but I got a cramp in my calf at just one mile :(

3/21: I did 7 miles today... I wanted to died when I had only 2 miles left and then I remembered why I am running. To find a cure! <3

3/25: I did a total of 1150 yards in the pool today! I have been slacking in training for the last two weeks but I am back on track. I was refreshed at the swim and look forward to my run tomorrow.

3/27: I cycled for an hour and did 3 of the hills. I was standing for the first two the whole time. On the tird I sat down after 10 sec.... my knees wanted to give out?!

3/28: I ran EIGHT miles!!!! I didn't want to die. I am stiff now after but felt okay doing it! Next sunday is 9 miles :)

4/3: I biked 12 miles in 30+ gusts of wind. There were times that I was pedaling but felt like I couldn't be moving!? Crazy wind on the bike trail! After the biking I went for my swim and did 3x 200... I felt like I could go one more, but decided not to push it.

4/4: I ran NINE miles and wasn't able to do the hills!?!!? That part disappointed me but I still ran the nine!

4/10: I did my first brick workout. I rode 12 miles and then transitioned into a run. I was not able to run at all!? Coach said that after the first half mile you feel better.... I didn't even make it that far!? WOW... but I knew that I was running 10 miles the next day and didn't want to push it. I will try one during the week and see if I can manage better.

4/11 - I ran TEN miles!!! I didn't think that would ever be possible!!! I got my first blister since I started training on Nov 15th.... I couldn't even jog a quarter of a mile and look at me today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
