This past saturday I completed five miles through rain, snow, sleet and wind at our group training. I am looking forward to the eight miles at Jamesville Resivoir this Saturday. I am anxious more and more each day closer to the Marathon of Bands Fundraiser. I hope for the sake of the bands that it is a good turnout.

I participated for the first time in the Tipp Hill Shamrock Run. I had fun and even had a personal best finishing time.

My weekly miles are starting to increase and I am excited. I am becoming a runner with the help of some new shoes and under armor. More importantly I am learning the stories of those affected by all cancers and my heart is truly touched. Thank you G.D. for your story I join you and many others in the fight. As you have said "I'm fighting, nothing more nothing less" Those words I will not forget.

So I took a chance and attempted a Bottle and Can Drive in my neighborhood. I raised $30!!! It made me happy to see that people still have a giving heart. My training thus far has been good, I just don't like running in the cold.

Today was the Kickoff Party at the Zoo for all TNT participants. The coffee was good and the stories were even better. I even ran into my friend Danielle and I asked her why she came. She told me because she had a friend that got her into it. That friend was me. With the stories that we had heard before, I knew that not only was i going to be able to help those with blood cancers, I now had inspired a friend to do the same thing. I am starting to realize how deep this program may be imprinted into my life. My first training run starts tomorrow, wish me luck!

On July 26, 2008 I was dancing at a friends wedding and injured my knee. That is when my dream of running at the Nike Women's half marathon stopped. I am healed,excited and ready to go. The only disapointment is that the sensor battery in my nike plus sports kit has run out of juice. I am looking forward to the TNT kickoff on January 31 and the early morning traing runs leading up to San Diego.

Training is going well. I bought an ipod and nike plus sports kit. The music gives me the grooves to keep running. I have reached my three mile goal. Now i will just keep adding a mile at a time.

I have been like a kid in a candy shop lately. Every time I see a donation, it lets me know that the world is not all that bad. Also that my friends and family believe in me. To everyone that has given me a donation up to today I love you and you are awesome!!!

Why I run for TNT?

I am running in honnor of three Central New York residents affected by blood cancers. Chalsea Hurley age 23, Alicia Fereday Shiland age 28 and Bella Grosso age 5. It is in their honor and and the many others affected by this disease that I decided to enroll with Team in Training (TNT) and register for the Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego California on May 31, 2009.

TNT is Leukemia & Lymphoma Societies largest fundraising program. Before you consider making a donation to this program please read the following facts about blood cancers:

Leukemia is one of the leading causes of death in children between the ages of 5 and 15

An Estimated 22,570 Americans will die this year from Leukemia

Additionally 20,610 Americans will die from Lymphoma and 11,300 will die form myeloma.

Working together we can help those in need and contribute to finding a cure for blood cancers!!!

In order to aid the honored teammates and other CNY residents affected by blood cancers, TNT participants pledge to raise a certain amount of money during the months they train for their event. My goal is $4,400.
