Racing to Save Lives
39.3 Miles for a Cure
I'm training to participate in The Goofy Challenge (39.3 Miles) on January 9th and 10th of 2010 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training Program. I will run the Half-Marathon (13.1 Miles) on Saturday and the Full Marathon (26.2) Miles on Sunday in an effort to raise funds to find a cure for Blood Cancer. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in Memory of my Grandmother Regina Burns who lost her battle to Lymphoma in 2007, My Godmother Joan Alfasi a Cancer Survivor, My Cousin, Helen Knapp a Leukemia Survivor , My Dad, Charlie Wilson a Cancer Survivor and many others.
I call them my Angels and Hero's. They provide me with the daily inspiration I need to continue training and fundraising even when things get tough.
I will be updating my site frequently with fundraising and training updates.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
Thanks for your support! Together we can find a CURE!
