Hello Amazing Supporters!!!
Just wanted to let you know that I SURVIVED MY FIRST TRIATHLON! I also wanted to share some of my finish line photos and to thank you for helping me get there. This experience was an incredible feat and I couldn’t have done it without your support. I am still in complete disbelief of what I was able to accomplish and all the things I learned along the way. As much as I was hurting at the finish line, I am already plotting on how to improve my time and crush the hell out of my official 4:41 time!
Thank you for believing in me!
Completing a triathlon was just something I would one day do. Now here I am; less than 48 hours away from completing an Olympic distance triathlon after just learning to swim in May. That’s a 1.5K swim, 40K bike ride and a 10K run (it all sounds further in kilometers). After 16 weeks of training, I have a new sense of accomplishment and all it took was an incredible amount of work, some tears, new scars and lots of bumps and bruises. On the bright side; I only had to be rescued twice by lifeguards while open water swimming and I made some incredible friendships along the way. But most importantly I raised lifesaving monies that will go directly to finding a cure. None of this would have been possible without your encouragement and support.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you to everyone that joined us for Legendary Bingo on Tuesday, August 30th at Edwin Mills. Also, thank you to our sponsors for your awesome donations. We raised crucial life saving monies that will go directly towards finding a cure.
It was such an emotionally taxing weekend with three open water swims. Friday was the toughest; the ocean was mean and kicked my ass both physically and emotionally. I learned a lot but I left the water shaken and afraid. Saturday was better, I moved faster and went further; I left the ocean feeling just a little more confident. Sunday came and I was beat, all I wanted to do was stay in bed. I went out anyway and learned a little more, felt more at ease and had some fun. Without my tribe this wouldn't have been possible. GO TEAM!
