PLEASE JOIN ME - I'M RUNNING A HALF-MARATHON (MY FIRST!) TO HELP FUND CANCER RESEARCH

I'm not a runner, and I never have been. I overheat, run out of breath, and peter out after about 3 miles. So, why am I doing this? The short answer is: my dad.

I'd heard about Team in Training (TNT) a while back and thought it was a great program, and I'd been planning on getting in shape for it when the time was right. But the time was never right. I was busy, out of town, injured... you name it. 

And then Dad was diagnosed with cerebral cancer, and I realized I needed to stop making excuses and do this now. Dad is fighting a particularly aggressive cancer like a boss, and I need to get off the couch and do whatever I can to help.

By participating as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) TNT, I am raising funds to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. While Dad is currently fighting brain cancer, basic research helps all cancers and treatments that were developed for blood cancers have helped brain cancer patients.

Your donation will help fund treatments that save lives every day.  Take immunotherapy, for example. My dad's oncologists are really enthusiatic about the prospects of this type of therapy that helps the immune system fight the tumor, for his type of cancer. You may not know it, but every single donation helps save a life with breakthrough therapies such as these.
