Last year was my first season with LLS TNT. My fundraising web site was all about running (feels like it). This season, I haven't put much of personal update on this page. It's all about fundraising events, one after another. It's about time for a quick update.
This summer, my kids had the opportunity to spend the whole summer in Taiwan with my parents. That means, I got to bring them there in the beginning of summer to drop them off, then fly back to bring them back to the US. Take this opportunity, I finished my 3rd half marathon in Taiwan in June (chip time 2:45) and my first full marathon in July (chip time 5:40). Both events were completed under 80+ degree temperature and 70+% humidily. I was surprised to see such a big running community in Taiwan, especially when I heard people around me talk about 50km or 100km ultra marathon. That's the part of Taiwan I didn't know.
While both trips to Taiwan were fun, it also came with sad news. My sister just lost her mother-in-law to cancer a couple days after I completed my full marathon. She is such a down to earth lady, treated my sister like her own daughter, and both our families are very close. When I was preparing for my first full marathon, mentally, I told myself if I ever got to a point it became too difficult to keep running, I need to remind myself that's nothing comparing to those battling cancer, especially when the event was happening in the same city that 2 people close to my heart are battling cancer. Though the run was totally under my control, that thought did appear in my mind a few times while I was running.
So, here we go. We gotta keep fighting.
Before wrap up this summer, I prepared another fundraising event with Sushiya. It's a small Japanese restaurant and the owner is very supportive to give back to community. On Aug. 4th, sushi is 30% off and 20% of the proceeds will be donated to help find a cure for blood cancer. Please bring your family and invite your friends to join us.
Little by little, it may not appear to be much, but each of your donation will get us closer to help someone around us. Hope to see you there.
Fun and successful Irish pub night

Thank you all for another fun and successful event. First of all, in the beginning of the week, I found out the event was advertised on Arizona Republic newspaper on July 5th. Tonight, photographer from Valley Lifestyles magazine showed up to take pictures (I will be looking for it in next release). Our 50/50 winner Marcia donated all her winning of $85. We also have several winners from silent auction. It's great to see such a great support from friends, co-workers, and again, strangers. It was a fun night.
