Racing to Save Lives Welcome to my Team In Training home page! I'm training to participate in the Mercedes Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training (TNT). All of us on TNT are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers and those who have lost their fight. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! One of the heros I am running in honor of is Josh Martin. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Whistle Stop Festival in Irondale while I was raising funds. He is 11 and has been in remission from AML for 7 years! See all those ribbons hanging from the bottom of my racing jersey? The purple ribbons are all my honored teammates; those who have won the battle or are currently fighting cancer. The white ribbons are in memory of those who have lost that fight; my dad is one of them. If you would like me to add a friend or loved one to my shirt, I would be honored - just let me know. Please make a donation to support my participation in TNT and help advance LLS's mission. I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. I'm up to 11 miles on my long Saturday run. Thanks for your support! |
